One Black BearNov 2015 - May 2019
I joined the digital team in November 2015 as a Front-end Developer, although my job role covered a whole host of different responsibilities; user interaction and experience, WordPress advocate, back-end development and photography. These are some of the projects I’ve had the privilege of working on, mainly in a front-end capacity, alongside the other bears.
I designed and created the website and branding for Unique Air Midlands, a custom balloon and decor company based in Erdington. I’ve also started work on That Hunter Music’s website and social media presence. Check them both out below.
I’ve always been fascinated with capturing moments. More recently, I’ve started exploring my photography and learning new techniques – I’m still figuring out my style and vibe, but here’s a few of my favourite shots from in and around Birmingham.
I have been working for the last 6 years in agencies, and as a freelancer for much longer – I even hold a First Class Honours degree in Web Development. My day to day includes developing WordPress websites and customisation, wireframing and writing technical specs for a wide range of clients.
My approach is user-centred, realistic and creative. As well as delivering websites that are clean and usable, I will also ensure that it loads fast, looks and feels good, created so you can update it easily, shares great on social media, and ultimately, is accessible for as many users as possible on whatever device they choose to use.
I’ve recently started a new position as a full-time Web Developer for the National School of Healthcare Science, part of Health Education England. When I’m not building things that live on the web, I spend my time
drinking wine keeping a tiny human alive, photographing the world around me and daydreaming about travelling the world.
